Multi award winning children's songwriter and entertainer, Kathy Possum, is going bush again on her second national tour!
Exploring Australia is a unique and interactive musical show where Kathy Possum leads children on an imaginary, fun-filled bush adventure. Children help Kathy Possum find and follow clues about Australia and its wildlife as they search for a 'mystery animal'.
Exploring Australia is a stand-out incursion featuring impressive production including: bush scene stage setting, professional sound system, lights, bubble machine, custom animatronics and professional puppets.
Original songs, quirky instruments, interactive resources and a brand new cast of furry friends will excite and delight children as they:
- Tap along on mini lagerphones
- Hop around the 'bush' donning kangaroo ears
- watch a life-size wombat magically wobble out of its burrow
The fun doesn't stop there! Post-show resources provide the opportunity to maximise learning outcomes through fun educational activities.
The Exploring Australia show is perfect for early learners & lower primary school children, aged 2-8 years.
Children under 2 years also enjoy the musical puppets.
OUTCOMES
MUSIC
- To explore and respond to music, including the utilization of props for participants.
- To introduce and explore beat and heighten musical understanding, through the use of lagerphones and
percussion instruments.
- To demonstrate and expose children to a traditional Aboriginal musical instrument.
- To explore music through movement and role-play.
HSIE/SOSE
- To expose children to an array of Australian native animals.
- To raise awareness about particular Australian native animals and their habitat through the use of professional puppets.
- To identify a range of Australian native animals based on a series of clues.
- To expose children to Aussie Lingo (Australian slang)"
FEES
- $8 (Inc GST) per child (subject to a minimum fee of $100 for less than 13 children).
- Discount available for large groups (more than 100 children).
- Invoices are issued on the day based on actual attendance.
SESSION TIMES
- Shows run for approximately 55 minutes
- Standard session times are 9:30am and 2:00pm
- Alternative session times subject to availability.
