Kathy’s 2012 show takes shape

Development of the new Kathy Possum show for 2012 is progressing well. The new show now has a name: The Magic Bush Circle.

The show is aligned with the Australian Government’s Early Years Learning Framework key themes of belonging, being and becoming. The Magic Bush Circle is a mythical place in Australia where the native bush animals live in harmony and where their dreams come true.  The main character, Annie Emu, is a magnificient, custom, life sized puppet, who dreams of flying.  One day the ‘magic’ of the circle is broken when an unwanted intruder (an introduced fox) arrives and ‘steals’ their dreams.  During the show children observe Annie as she develops her sense of self through recognising her limitations and learning to appreciate her abilities.  Children also learn by working together, that even the most seemingly impossible obstacles may be overcome and through persistance and effort dreams really do come true.

Launching Kathy Possum’s Blog

Possum Music are very keen to provide you with a more dynamic experience through our website. A key component of that dynamism is Kathy Possum’s Blog.

We will provide updates of our whereabouts and what we are working on from time to time through our blogs. We will also have blogs designed for carers and parents to share information with kids. These child focussed blogs will be presented from the view point of characters within the show. Expect George to be a bit rambuncious and rude

Blogs also provide an important avenue for your feedback and will allow us to develop our shows, storylines, characters, songs, music, learning materials, activities, DVD’s and books with your needs in sharper focus.

We hope you will visit our site and contribute often.

Cheers
